15KM LEKI ‘DOZER LINE’

COURSE

The 15km Leki ‘Dozer Line’ is possibly one of the more demanding 15km courses on offer. This scenic loop provides incredible views however don’t be fooled into thinking it’s an easy course. With challenging climbs and downhill sections, it can be completed as a run or walk.

Starting next to the historic Island Hills woolshed, the course sidles the Dove River before joining singletrack that weaves its way through to a grass saddle. From here, there is a steep climb up the ‘Dozer Line’ track, a creation of the infamous bulldozer driver, Tommy Baker.

The course climbs to the highest altitude of all four courses, reaching 850m above sea level. On a clear day, you will also be treated to views of Mt Skedaddle (1704m), the highest point on the property.

The descent takes you through native bush eventually joining the Glencoe river before a climb and descent through farmland to the finish line.

The beauty of this course is that it has a generous cut-off time so take your time and soak in the scenery!
